Our mission

At Natursac, we understand the link between the health of the planet and the impacts of excessive packaging. We work to find the best ecological alternatives, and thus help our customers to be better stewards of the environment. We aim for the best products, a commitment to the environment and unparalleled customer service.

Our principles

Proud of our expertise gained in recent years. We are constantly looking for the best raw materials and production methods that limit the negative effects on the environment

Biodegradable technologies

While the production of biodegradable packaging products is still a relatively new process, we are open to all new technologies in order to benefit our customers.

OK BIOBASED Certified Biosourced Bags (by TUV):

Why biosourced garbage bags? In a context where consumers and regulations demand more sustainable solutions, choosing biosourced bags is no longer just an ecological option but a CSR commitment.

Concrete Benefits:

  1. Reduced Carbon Footprint Biosourced bags are made from renewable plant resources, reducing the use of petroleum and the CO₂ emissions linked to production.

  2. Less Plastic Pollution Unlike traditional plastics, biosourced bags degrade faster and eliminate microplastics in the environment. This is a concrete step towards a zero-waste policy.

  3. Enhancement and Commitment By offering a more responsible solution, you strengthen your ethical and environmental positioning, which is now a strong selection criterion for customers and partners.

  4. Compliance with Environmental Regulations In Europe, partially or totally biosourced bags are a key element of the ecological transition. By integrating biosourced products now, you are anticipating your positioning and CSR commitment.

These bags (transparent, printed in green) are recyclable and non-compostable. We recommend using them as bags for household garbage and waste, and for collecting non-compostable animal waste.

PLA Bags (Compostable)

All Natursac compostable bags (printed in brown to differentiate them from the garbage bags printed in green) are BPI certified compostable according to the American standard ASTM D6400. Our customers should be confident that they are using the best, truly compostable product with the highest integrity on the market.

BPI Certification – ASTM D6400

When it comes to making marketing claims regarding a product's biodegradable or compostable attributes, ASTM D6400 is the industry's gold standard.

ASTM D6400 is the North American equivalent of the European standard EN 13432. Both specifications require biodegradable/compostable products to completely decompose in a composting setting within a specific timeframe, leaving no harmful residue behind.

Our BPI certification number appears on our bags: 10528795

???? Household Waste Packaging Solutions: The Natursac Commitment

1. The Transition to Biosourced: Reducing the Fossil Footprint

Conventional garbage bags are made from plastic derived from fossil resources (petroleum), which is a non-renewable resource. Natursac is committed to the ecological transition by integrating plant-based materials.

To measure this approach, we refer to the TUV AUSTRIA IK BIOBASED standard, which uses a star system to indicate the percentage of biosourced content:

Stars % Biosourced Content
4 Stars 100% biosourced content
1 Star 25% to 40% biosourced content

???? The Natursac Approach: The 1-Star Formulation

We have opted for a 1-star formulation in order to combine a reduced ecological impact (integration of natural resource plastic) with an affordable price for our customers.

This approach aims to minimize greenhouse gas emissions by:

  • Integrating a percentage of natural resource (biosourced) plastic into standard plastic.

  • Achieving a lower carbon impact through the use of young carbon.

2. A Fully Compostable Solution: PLA

Concerned with offering the latest solutions, we recently introduced PLA bags.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a fully biodegradable thermoplastic polymer that uses renewable raw materials of plant origin.

This new range of compostable bags (PLA) has been added to our existing offering (which already included oxo-fragmentable bags, commonly called oxo-degradable).

???? Certification and Quality

The new compostable range is BPI certified (the leading North American certifier of compostable products and packaging), thus guaranteeing maximum performance and integrity.
